What security measures are in place at your storage facility? If you have a question that has not been answered here please contact us and we will be happy to help. How will my goods be stored? We use a standard removal industry container which is 8 high x 7 long x 56 wide. These containers are kept inside our 35,000 square foot storage facility. How do I get my goods to store? There is a choice of either self storage, which means renting/borrowing a vehicle to bring your goods to our facility. Alternatively we can remove you to and from store using one or more of our modern removal vehicles. How do I pay for my storage? Preferably by standing order (it is very easy to forget to pay!) If this facility is not available to you then you can pay by credit card each month, in person at our offices with cash or by post with a cheque or bankers draft. Please allow plenty of time for a cheque to clear. Are there any goods I cannot store? Perishable goods, obviously, along with aromatics such as petrol, and other flammable liquids and gas containers. Not so obvious are freezers that are not defrosted properly, which could lead to mildew and could attract vermin into the facility. Important paperwork like passports and deeds should not be submitted for storage Can I gain access to my goods whilst they are in store? Under normal circumstances yes you can, by arrangement. Storage customers who frequently require access may need to pay a handling charge. Where is the storage facility? All of our storage is held at our head office in Northfleet, Kent. See how to find us. May I inspect the storage facility? You can indeed, in fact our advice suggests just that. There is also no need to make an appointment as there is nothing for us to hide and we pride ourselves in maintaining a clean and efficient facility. Is the storage area clean/dry/heated? The storage facility is clean and dry, though it is a working warehouse and a certain amount of dust is inevitable. The warehouse is, however, not heated. This reason is that because it is so big the temperature does not fluctuate more than a few degrees whether the weather is bright sunshine or a blizzard. This stable environment keeps your furniture free from mildew, and pests. Do I get a list of items taken for storage? If we conduct your removal to store our operatives complete a full inventory list. This covers what is taken and condition of the item. You will be furnished with a copy of the list for your records. Are the goods insured? We offer full insurance for your goods in store the specific terms of which are available on our storage insurance page. Please click here to view terms and conditions. Is the storage area secure? We have a fully alarmed premises linked to the emergency services via the redcare system. CCTV also covers the perimeter of the grounds and this is monitored off site. Coded locks prevent unauthorised access to both the warehouse and the offices. Is there any minimum storage period? There is no minimum or maximum period of storage although administrative cost dictate that the minimum charge for storage is one week. Can I get a discount for long-term storage? There is no discount for long-term storage but if you can pay in six month or yearly blocks there are savings to be made. This also protects you from interim price rises. What happens if I have an item that is too large for a container? There are few items that we have come across that are too large for a standard container. In the event that an item submitted for storage is too large then it will be export packed and placed in another area within our facility specifically allocated to these items. For self-storage what do I need to bring with me? You will need to bring the goods themselves, two forms of identification (e.g. passport, driving license, utility bill), contact address details for invoicing, and 1 months storage charge to be paid in advance. |
